On September 28, 2023 we hosted the forth annual Handmade Future Summit presented in partnership with Stacey Edgar Consulting. Sector partner Powered by People hosted a four day trade event showcasing Trade+Impact artisan business partners.

We were thrilled to learn Storytelling from Dana Avidan Cohn, the Director of Editorial Content at Macy's, explore circular economy strategies for the handmade sector with artisan industry experts from Worldfinds, Quasi Designs, Conserve India, and Tamayo, and hear from Nest, the World Fair Trade Organization, Powered by People and Equiception on understanding ethical and sustainability certification/verification for artisan businesses. We also learned how a community of businesses in Fogo Island, Canada created an Economic Nutrition Label that helps consumers understand the economic impact of their purchases.
