Company Focus: We are trying to change people's lives one heart at a time. At Heartfelt our philosophy is simple; we always make each product out of love, fill it with hope and send it out into the world to spread its wings. Every action can make a tiny difference. Lots of tiny differences can mean a lot of action.
Social Impact: Heartfelt has a sad beginning, but because of it the lives of others will be changed forever. Martha Letsoalo started the Heartfelt Project with Julie Hadley after her son Emmanuel died in prison wrongly accused and sadly abused at the age of 25. His files to this day have never been found. After stealing what little money Martha had and promising to get Emmanuel out of prison, the corrupt lawyer left her broken hearted and disheartened by the legal system in the country. With no husband to depend on, no job opportunities and three grandchildren to feed - Martha did what came naturally to her - she found a way to survive. Heartfelt is her story, It's about who she is. It's about her children. It's about the sadness that happens on a daily basis in a little place called Makapanstad. And the big difference one small heart can make to the happiness of others. Today through the sale of each item Heartfelt is creating employment, empowering women and giving hope to her little community. Each lady comes to work full of pride and hope for her future. Not only does each item sold change her life and those of her family, but it also helps to uplift her community. At Heartfelt we strongly believe that if money goes directly to the people who need it - through job creation and teaching life skills - then that is the most sustainable way to ensure that change happens and keeps happening. Our aim is to do our best to continually help create employment for unemployed women in the community. This will be through the creation and sales of our unique Heartfelt designs so that each woman can earn a living wage for the rest of her life.
