Company Focus: We focus on sustainable design for social impact. We began in 2010 with the intention of creating local employment. We create original accessories and homewares by transforming 100% discarded waste magazines. Based in Swaziland, all our products are hand made at our workshop by local women artisans who are trained in-house, empowering them through skill sharing and earning a living wage. We want to change the perception of recycled materials by developing innovative techniques and combining locally sourced and environmentally friendly materials. We are known for our contemporary approach to design and our continuous product development. We partner with the local magazine distributors and our founder is a designer from the UK.

We currently employ 15 artisans, with a retail shop in Swaziland and a collaborative retail space in Cape Town with other Swazi handcraft companies.

Social Impact: We offer full time employment with contracts and benefits. We have an artisan school fees fund which we raise money for, through the sales of One of a Kind products and we assist our artisans in saving. We aim to pay a living wage in order for our artisans to live independent lives where they are the decision makers. We offer employees training through in house skills training and external professional training related to their roles. We want to create a safe and conducive work atmosphere and have 2 trained Peer educators who offer health counselling.
